Client Service Agreement
Before we begin any work, all clients must read and sign our service agreement. This protects both you and our team, ensuring clear expectations.
Service Agreement & Liability Waiver
This Service Agreement and Liability Waiver ("Agreement") is entered into between Bruce the Handyman ("Contractor") and the client named below ("Client").
1. SCOPE OF SERVICESThe Contractor will provide handyman services as requested. Exact scope and pricing are agreed upon before work begins. Additional work may be added with Client approval.
2. PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONSThe Client acknowledges that the property may contain hidden defects, deterioration, or code issues. Bruce the Handyman is not responsible for identifying or fixing conditions outside the agreed scope of work.
3. LIMITATION OF LIABILITYTO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BRUCE THE HANDYMAN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, FIXTURES, OR BELONGINGS UNLESS CAUSED DIRECTLY BY GROSS NEGLIGENCE. This includes damage to items within walls, ceilings, or floors; damage arising from pre-existing weaknesses; cosmetic imperfections from standard repair work; or consequential damages.
4. FINANCIAL LIMITATIONIn cases where liability is established, the Contractor's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for that specific service.
5. ASSUMPTION OF RISKThe Client understands and accepts the inherent risks of handyman work and voluntarily assumes them, including the risk of accidental damage.
6. INDEMNIFICATIONClient agrees to hold harmless and indemnify Bruce the Handyman from claims arising from Client negligence, undisclosed hazards, or pre-existing conditions.
7. PAYMENTPayment is due upon job completion. A deposit may be required for large projects. Unpaid balances may accrue a 1.5% monthly late fee.
8. DISPUTESDisputes shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation, then binding arbitration in New Jersey, before any litigation.
9. PERMITSClient is responsible for obtaining required permits unless otherwise agreed in writing.
10. GOVERNING LAWThis Agreement is governed by New Jersey law.
11. ELECTRONIC SIGNATUREBy signing below, Client confirms they are of legal age, have read and understood all terms, and agree to be bound by this Agreement.
